Company Overview

Recognized as a Manufacture’s Manufacturer, QC Corporation, founded in 1971, prides itself with top-notch customer service, superior product quality, and amazing innovation. Our Diamond Brand® products serve many industries (Industries We Serve) with products that include Moist, Dried and Granulated Ferrous Sulfate, Sugrow® Sucrate micronutrients, blended and granulated micronutrients, and custom granulated formulations. As the largest North American supplier of Ferrous Sulfate products, combined with our granulation services, we process and/or produce over 80,000 tons annually through our two strategically located manufacturing facilities. We are also the ONLY domestic manufacturer of Ferrous Sulfate in all of its different forms, with multiple Ferrous Sulfate processing facilities in the United States. As a family run business, we continue to serve our customers as we would our own…, with honesty, loyalty and integrity.

For more than 40 years, QC Corporation and its affiliate company, Add-Iron Corporation, have been the largest processors of Moist and Dried Ferrous Sulfate Products, and Granular Ferrous Sulfate Monohydrate in North America.

Early Years – Ferrous Sulfate – Leading the Way

QC Corporation began Ferrous Sulfate drying operations in Baltimore, MD in 1971, where it dried Moist Ferrous Sulfate crystals into a Dried Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate and Monohydrate. In 1981, QC Corporation relocated its operations to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to meet anticipated growth and reduce transportation costs. In 1990, QC Corporation added compaction granulation to its Ferrous Sulfate processing line to produce the only domestic source of Coarse and Fine Granular Ferrous Sulfate Monohydrate. Our 200,000 sq. ft. production and warehouse facilities have undergone 6 expansions since its startup in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Add-Iron Corporation’s 96,000 sq. ft. production facility was built in 1996 in North Lima, Ohio, to satisfy expanding Ferrous Sulfate markets and our customers in the eastern regions of Canada and the United States.

We can ship our Products by rail or truck from both locations, and both facilities have nearby Port and river access for barge shipments. Between both facilities, we always maintain 15,000 tons of Moist Ferrous Sulfate raw material inventories for projects requiring large volumes of product in short periods of time.

Growth, Diversification & Further Expansion

Compaction processing equipment for the production of Diamond Brand® Custom Granulated Micronutrients was added at Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 2000. QC produces, on a tolling and contract manufacturing or turn-key basis, customized granulated micronutrient combinations and other products to meet specific customer specifications.

QC also produces its own line of Granular Ferrous Sulfate Products, Granular Sucrate Micronutrients, Granular OxySulfate Micronutrients and Granular Chelated Micronutrients, for the Lawn and Garden, Turf and Ornamental, Professional Horticulture and Agriculture markets.

Since 2000, our current granulation system has undergone additional re-engineering and expansion for further growth and new product capabilities. In 2011, we purchased a nearby 36,000 sq. ft. warehouse for additional storage capacity and we have recently broken ground on a $3.5 million expansion at our Cape Girardeau, Missouri facility. This new expansion will more than double our granulation capacity with an entirely independent, state-of-the-art, 36,000 sq. ft. bulk blending, compaction granulation and packaging facility, to complement our existing granulation plant. This new granulation line is projected to be in production during the first quarter of 2013.

To continue providing the quality of materials produced by QC Corporation that our customers have become accustomed to, we are also building a new, state-of-the-art Quality Control laboratory to be operational by the time our new additional granulation plant begins operations.  The additional space in the new lab, as well as the new equipment that is being added, will allow QC Corporation to maintain its stringent quality assurance program 24 hours a day while our granulation plants are producing.
