GENERAL
Diamond Brand® Moist Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate,
also referred to as Moist Copperas, is the moist or wet
crystalline form of Ferrous Sulfate containing ~8% exterior
or free water ([FeSO4•7H2O]H2O) and ~44% interior water.
It is derived from the processing of ilmenite ore in the
manufacturing of the paint pigment Titanium Dioxide, or
as a co-product from the pickling of steel.
APPLICATIONS
Diamond Brand® Moist Ferrous Sulfate products are used
as a reducing agent in the treatment of hazardous wastes
and as a coagulant and flocculent in the treatment of
sewage waste, industrial effluents, raw drinking water
and other wastewater sources. In addition, it is used as
a reducing agent in the removal of phosphates and odor
causing hydrogen sulfide from various waste sources.
The Agricultural, Lawn and Garden, and Turf Management industries use Diamond Brand® Ferrous Sulfate to correct iron chlorosis or deficiencies in plants and soils, to eliminate moss, to reduce alkalinity, and as a trace element or micronutrient in fertilizers.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
A blue-green soluble salt having the consistency of wet
salt, Moist Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate does not flow
freely like the dried forms of Ferrous Sulfate and has to be
mechanically fed when being mixed with water or other
materials. Additionally, there may be inconsistent free
water, iron and sulfuric acid contents, and compaction or
caking in high humidity storage conditions. QC

trucks in bulk, or in lined bulk bags.
