Moist Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate crystals contain approximately 8% exterior or free water. These moist crystals are the least costly of all of the various forms of Ferrous Sulfate crystals available from QC Corporation because they do not have to be dried. Having the consistency of damp salt, Moist Ferrous Sulfate does not flow freely like the dried forms of Ferrous Sulfate and has to be mechanically transported when being mixed with water or other substances. Other problems associated with moist crystals include inconsistent free water, iron and sulfuric acid contents, compaction and caking in storage and environmental problems if liquid Ferrous Sulfate leaks out of the material when being stored or transported.
